APA-NYM Chapter Transportation Committee: QueensWay Tour

Join the APA-NY Metro Chapter Transportation Committee for a tour of the QueensWay site! The QueensWay is a grassroots effort to transform a long-abandoned portion of the LIRR Rockaway Beach Branch into a 3.5-mile linear park in Central Queens. The tour will provide an opportunity to explore key planning objectives like transportation and connectivity. Saturday, September 19, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
*Optional Networking Lunch to follow, location TBD!*

Tour highlights include:
– How the trail could improve walking and biking connections between neighborhoods, schools, parks, and transit
– Sustainability and resilience efforts of the project, including the role of green infrastructure in addressing stormwater and climate resilience
– Land use and economic development impacts of the project, including how transforming an underutilized rail corridor into a linear park can benefit local businesses

The tour will be led by:
