Join the citywide celebration of current and future NYC greenways that promotes the diversity of our city’s public spaces for exercise, nature, and fun! Greenways Weekend will take place across the five boroughs on Saturday and Sunday, September 19 & 20, 2026, with events extending through the end of September.
Plant Cuttings and Seed Spreading

Join Climate Ed and Girl Scout Troop 2156 for an afternoon of planting, seed sharing, and environmental education in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Native seeds will be distributed to park-goers, while Girl Scouts will provide maps of the Brooklyn Greenway with each seed packet or plant cutting to help spread both seeds and awareness. Sunday, September 20, 2:00–4:00 PM.
